I have found that these three tips save me time AND money in the studio!
1. Travel Size containers. I use these small containers to make desktop jars for everyday use. Use a small funnel to pour your mediums and additives in small travel size containers. Mark the container with what's inside and any usage info like ratios and water needed. Less waste, more control and less clutter on your table!
2. Save that Gallon size milk jug! Rinse it out and keep it filled with clean water in your studio to refresh your paint water container. After each painting, I dump my paint water container into a 5 gallon bucket. At the end of the day, I cart it to the garage to put in my crock pot to help evaporate the water so I can just throw away the acrylic paint sludge in the trash without it going down my sink drains. Having fresh water at the ready to refill my paint water container helps me save time. No more running back and forth to the sink all day!
3. Plastic lid palettes. I love recycling lids of my plastic food containers to use as a paint palette when working in my small art journals. The acrylic paint peels right off after several sessions and I am ready to start again!
