Two summers ago, I started my Nature Journal. It helped me to slow down and enjoy the quiet sunlit evenings and spend time closely looking at every detail of the delicate bee balm blooms.
It is easy to start your own nature journal.
Choose a blank sketchbook and a theme. I decided on the flowers blooming in my backyard but you could choose the beach, forest, zoo, arboretum or natural history museum.
Take a few minutes each day to work in your journal and practice. Use simple art supplies that won't melt in the heat or dry out. My favorite are watercolor pencils. I can either keep my sketches as color pencil drawings or add water.
Before you know it you will have a book full of wonderful drawings you can enjoy!
